237th Glasgow Coy. Boys' Brigade

This year (2008) the B.B. worldwide celebrates it's 125th anniversary.

Following on from last year's success when 2 members of the 237th Glasgow Company B.B. gained the highest award in the Boys' Brigade - the Queen's Badge (Cpl Matt Thain & Cpl Scott Davidson) a further four boys completed their Queen's Badge course this year (Cpl Andrew Livingstone; Cpl Craig Colquhoun, Cpl Robert Cammidge & Cpl Craig Devine).

Unfortunately, the falling numbers and changing interests of those attending has prompted the remaining staff to re-appraise the future of youth work within our congregation. After 79 years of service to the young men of Knightswood we took the very difficult decision to disband our BB. Company. However we believe that a new approach to youth work is necessary in order to meet the needs of the youth in our area.

On 14th September 2008 we held our closing Thanksgiving Service and invited ex-members of our Company to attend.

After the service, past and present members of our Company paraded for the final time before our colours were formally installed in the sanctuary.
